Your privacy matters. This page explains, in plain language, what FileTransferFree (“we”, “the service”) does and does not do with your data when you visit filetransferfree.com.

Files you transfer

FileTransferFree sends files directly between two browsers using a secure peer-to-peer connection. The file bytes are never uploaded to our servers, never stored, never scanned, and never logged. The connection between the two devices is encrypted end-to-end by your browser using industry-standard transport encryption.

Signaling

To help two browsers find each other, a tiny amount of metadata (a randomly generated room ID and the small connection-handshake messages your browser produces) is exchanged through public, decentralized internet infrastructure. This metadata does not include the contents of your files, filenames, or any personal information you have entered. We do not operate this infrastructure ourselves and we do not log it.

Information we collect on this website

The marketing pages (such as Home, About, FAQ) are served as static HTML from our hosting provider. Our host may automatically log standard request information (IP address, user agent, requested URL) for security and abuse-prevention purposes. We do not place any first-party analytics cookies. We do not sell or share visitor data.

Cookies

FileTransferFree itself does not set tracking cookies. If we display advertising on the marketing pages (for example through Google AdSense), those third-party providers may set cookies in accordance with their own privacy policies. EU/UK visitors can manage advertising preferences through the consent banner where required.

Advertising & Google AdSense

The marketing pages of this website may display advertisements served by Google AdSense and other third-party advertising vendors. These advertisers may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to:

• serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites;
• measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns;
• limit the number of times you see a particular ad.

Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to FileTransferFree and/or other sites on the internet. Third-party services

• Hosting & CDN — static hosting and global content delivery. Standard request logs may be retained by the host.
• Public connection-discovery infrastructure — community-operated public services used only for the brief connection handshake described above. No file contents ever pass through them.
• Web fonts — used to load our display typeface.
• Google AdSense (optional, on marketing pages only) — see Google’s advertising policies.

Children’s privacy

FileTransferFree is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at info@filetransferfree.com.

Your rights

Because we do not store your files or maintain user accounts, there is generally no personal data for us to access, correct, or delete. For requests related to logs collected by our hosting provider, please contact us via our contact page.

GDPR (European users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. As described above, we do not collect personal data through the file-transfer flow itself. For requests related to advertising cookies set by third-party providers (such as Google AdSense), please use the consent banner or the opt-out links above.

CCPA (California users)

We do not sell personal information as that term is defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). California residents may exercise the rights described above by contacting us at info@filetransferfree.com.
