Why your real speed is slower than your plan
ISPs advertise the peak bitrate of your connection. In practice you almost never see that number, because of overhead from TCP, TLS, Wi-Fi retries, ISP shaping and the upload limit of the server you're talking to. As a rule of thumb, expect 70–85% of the headline speed for sustained transfers.
Want to skip upload entirely?
If you're sending a file directly between two devices, FileTransferFree opens a secure peer-to-peer channel so the file never has to go through a server. The transfer is limited only by the slower of the two devices' connections, with no extra ingress/egress.
